WARREN, Pa., (November 30, 2009) – Need extra cash for the upcoming Christmas holiday? You are in luck! Members of The Boonies International of Warren Film Festival Group are now selling tickets for a 50/50 drawing, to be held on December 18, just in time for you to wrap up your holiday shopping!
According to Jeff Clark, Film Festival Director, tickets for the 50/50 drawing are $5 each and can be purchased in Warren directly from Boonies volunteers or at Authors, Books and Music; Crone’s; Warren United News; the GRO-Warren office at 310 Second Avenue during the Christmas Walk on Friday December 4th from 6-8 PM, or during business hours.
”The largest portion of the proceeds from the drawing will be used towards the Boonies Web site construction, which is underway,” Clark explained. Our target launch date is January 1, 2010. In addition, 7.5% of the proceeds will be donated to The Allegheny Center for the Arts, and 7.5% to an account for a Boonies Education Scholarship Fund.”
The 50/50 drawing will take place at the GRO-Warren office/gallery on December 18th at noon. The public is invited to attend, though you need not be present to win.
In other news about the 5-day International Film Festival to be held in Warren, August 23-27, 2011, Joey Roy, Festival Manager said, “The Boonies Group is in the process of becoming a 501c3, (a non-profit organization) and is working with GRO-Warren, the Regional Arts Council and WCCBI.”
Roy added, “We had a great turnout for our first volunteer meeting on November 15th. In the new year, we will hold more public meetings for others in the community who want to learn about the International Film Festival and/or get involved. A separate meeting will be held with regional businesses to discuss the Festival as it may apply to them. Details will be published in the near future.”
